State of the State Benediction Address

May the gracious and loving God of all creation, guide us in realizing that liberty and prosperity are not merely the words of our state motto but what is desired for all those who call New Jersey their home.

Keep us ever mindful, that we have been blessed to be a blessing, and may we be generous in sharing with those in need from the abundance the Lord has first provided us in all aspects of life.

Instill in all our leaders, O God of mercy, your Spirit of cooperation and reconciliation – from those serving in our capital to those in the many cities, towns and boroughs of the Garden State- so that all may experience the joy God desires us to know by living in community.

May God’s peace, which passes all human understanding, be with us now and always as we become agents of God’s grace, hope, and love in all we say and do, both in New Jersey and throughout the nation and world. Amen.

Delivered by Rev. Wayne Zschech on January 14, 2014
